Codesign
Software and Blockchain Company
Codesign is a Curitiba-based fintech company specializing in blockchain technology and cryptocurrency trading services for banks and financial institutions. Their multidisciplinary team develops systems and applications that merge programming, algorithms, and finance — essentially positioning themselves as a software house.
As the company expanded, it needed a space that could integrate its programmers, traders, and designers, promoting agile workflows and natural collaboration. Beyond functionality, Codesign also wanted a decompression area — not just for leisure, but as a genuine recharge zone that reflects its youthful and dynamic culture.
Located at Curitiba The Five, one of the city’s most important corporate buildings, the new headquarters spans 362 m². Designed and managed by A9 Arquitetura, the project was completed in 2021 with a focus on versatility, modern aesthetics, and emotional experience through spatial design.
A Digital Universe in a Tangible Space
Stepping into Codesign’s office feels like entering a space where the physical and digital merge. The brand’s online-first identity is subtly translated into a physical experience — one that communicates agility, innovation, trust, and comfort.
Instead of a traditional reception desk, visitors are greeted by a branded wall panel that sets the tone for this immersive environment, creating an immediate connection between the company’s virtual world and its physical workplace.
Sleek Surfaces and Neutral Colors: A Tech-Inspired Atmosphere
One wing houses 24 fully equipped workstations for the trading team and designers, ensuring focus and real-time market analysis. The adjacent area accommodates 15 developers, with a dedicated meeting room for multimedia presentations, and private booths designed for informal chats and small team huddles.
Executive Space: Wood, Concrete, Leather, and Textures in Harmony
To reflect a modern startup identity and cater to a younger team, the design maintained the exposed slab ceiling. While it enhances spatial openness and lends an industrial vibe, it also presented an acoustic challenge. This was resolved through thoughtful furniture selection, desk dividers, acoustic foam panels, and carpeting.
Biophilic Touches and Warm Materials
The workspace incorporates natural wood in workstations and storage units to provide a sense of warmth. Biophilic elements, such as green plants, add life and freshness — balancing the heavy use of screens and technology. Dark gray tones and smooth surfaces enhance the feeling of a sleek, high-tech environment.
A dedicated signage and visual communication system ensures clarity and belonging, aligning with Codesign’s brand values and fostering team cohesion.
Unplug to Recharge: The Decompression Area
Working in finance demands sharp focus, constant connectivity, and decision-making under pressure. That’s why creating moments to relax and refresh is essential.
At Codesign, the decompression zone is more than just a break room — it’s a space for celebration, creativity, and connection. Featuring a small stage with musical instruments and amps, a pool table that doubles as a dining table, a kitchenette with a draft beer tap, and lounge seating, the area invites spontaneous jam sessions or well-earned downtime.
